twin forks

Hattiesburg was originally named Twin Forks for the meeting of the Leaf and Bouie Rivers.  It is also symbolic of what Hattiesburg has become–a meeting place not only of interstates and highways, but of diverse people and ideas.  Local folks, University transplants, and Katrina evacuees.  Old and New.  Heritage and Hope.   The food scene has benefited greatly from these meetings.  We have the traditional Southern food, dishes inspired by New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, as well as ethnic cuisines we’ve come to love as our own.  Yum!

Sara Evans Miller has been eating in Hattiesburg for over 30 years.  She loves to cook and entertain as well as take advantage of all the area restaurants have to offer.  She can often be found these days playing on the floor with her little one while trying not to spill her coffee.
